Cross Wedding
This past Sunday, I had the joy of photographing a beautiful wedding at Tayvin Gardens in Smiths Grove, Kentucky. I’ve actually been in a wedding at this venue before, but returning as the photographer brought a completely different, special perspective. It’s always exciting to shoot at a place that holds a bit of personal history, and this day couldn’t have gone more perfectly.
All week, I kept an eye on the weather—because if you’re in Kentucky, you know the skies have a mind of their own. Thankfully, the rain held off! While the day brought the heat and humidity, I’ll take that over a downpour any day (though next time I won’t be wearing jeans—lesson learned!).
The couple were absolutely precious. I actually used to work with Mara at Sun Tan City, so it was incredibly meaningful to be the one capturing her wedding day years later. Life has such a funny way of coming full circle, and moments like these remind me just how grateful I am to do what I love.
From start to finish, this wedding was full of warmth—literally and figuratively. The bride and groom were so kind and intentional, making sure I had everything I needed, including food, water, and even time to sit and recharge. Fellow photographers know what a gift that is during a full wedding day.
I’ve already begun sorting through their gallery, and even just viewing the images straight from my camera has me in awe. This venue is stunning, the details were flawless, and the energy of the day was pure magic. I’ll be sending out previews within 24 hours, and the full gallery will be ready within a week or two—I cannot wait to share the final edits.
Shooting weddings isn’t something I typically do on Sundays, but this one reminded me why I love what I do. Thank you to bride and groom for allowing me to be a part of such an intimate, unforgettable day. Stay tuned—this gallery is going to be something special.
XOXO,
Chloe
